MARRIAGE

Marriage was ordained by God. Marriage is a Covenantal union between one man and one woman. The
union is a lifetime commitment before God and man.

Marriage is exclusively the legal union of one genetic male and one genetic female, and that this union is
evidenced by a marriage ceremony. (Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 5:11; 6:9; 6:18-20; 7:1-3; 7:8-9;
Romans 1:18-32).

We believe that God created man, and that He created them male and female. He created them
different to complement and complete each other. We believe that God instituted monogamous
marriage between one male and one female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of
human society. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Timothy 1:9-11). Accordingly, GraceWay church will not perform
any marriage ceremonies between two individuals of the same sex. GraceWay church will not recognize
same-sex marriages, civil unions or domestic partnerships even if the state or federal government
passes laws that provide for recognition of such unions.

WATER BAPTISM

Jesus commanded His disciples to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38). We believe that every follower of Christ should obey the Lord in entering
the waters of baptism. Baptism means to be immersed, or plunged into. We practice water baptism by
immersion, the who is being baptize identifies with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, empowering
us to leave our old, sinful ways of life and embrace our new, spirit-filled life.

"Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new." - Romans 8:17; 2 Corinthians 5:17
